Headingley Street Choirs festival, Saturday, 10th June
June 10, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Following the success of 2016’s Street Choirs festival, Headingley Voices (the new name for Friends of Lawnswood Community Choir) are planning a similar event for this year, and Harmony members are invited to take part.
The date for this year’s event is Saturday, 10th June and it will be along broadly similar lines as last year: rehearsal for the mass sing; mass sing at Headingley Farmers Market, sharing busking slots (Harmonywith Asmarina Voices) around Headingley; and a final concert when participating choirs can perform a couple of pieces from their own repertoire.
There will be some changes: some different venues and better busking locations and changes to the catering arrangements. During the morning rehearsal before the mass sing there’ll be some people on hand to look after the children and keep them entertained. In the afternoon there’s the Youth Music Festival at Shire Oak Primary School with lots of activities for children.
It is possible to take part in some parts of the day if you can’t come for all of it, see the programme below & atatched. It will be free (and lunch’s provided at Headingley Methodist church hall after the mass sing) for those Harmony members on low income, £3 for others.
Thew songs we’ll be learning to sing there are: Think of Me, Green Green, Song of Peace, Give me Wings, 3 Native American chants – you can find these on our song files page
